Automatic laser shutdown is a procedure to automatically shut down the laser when there is no input light and stop emitting optical signals. For example, when an optical interface board does not bear services, a fiber fault occurs, or the
received optical signals are lost, the laser is automatically off. This reduces the on period of the laser, extends the service life of the laser, and avoids exposure to hazardous levels.
