Checking the Optical Line Protection Switching Status

If optical line protection (OLP) switching is triggered, it indicates the protection board failed. The network maintenance engineers can check the OLP switching status, to detect faults that make the protection facility unavailable.

Prerequisites

The optical line protection based on the NG WDM equipment must be created.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, click an NE and choose Configuration > Port Protection from the Function Tree.
    All OLP protection pairs are listed in the window.
  2. To view the switching status of an OLP group, select the OLP group, and choose Function > Query Switching Status.
