If the input or output optical power value is abnormal, you must adjust the attenuation rate to make the optical power normal and stable.
Prerequisites
- To adjust the input optical power for a board, the board that is capable of adjusting optical attenuation, must be available at the upstream station.
- To adjust the output optical power of a board, the board must be capable of adjusting the optical attenuation rate.
Procedure
- Change the input optical power by adjusting the VOA in the upstream direction.
- Find out the board that has a VOA in the upstream direction, based on the network.
- In the NE Explorer, select the board and choose from the Function Tree. Click Basic Attributes tab.
- Adjust the Optical Interface Attenuation Ratio (dB) by taking the history performance data
as a reference.
- Click Apply to send the new configuration data to the NE.
- Query the input optical power and determine whether the optical power is normal.
NOTE: - If the optical power is normal, complete the operation.
- If the optical power remains abnormal, adjust the optical power and query again.
- Change the output optical power.
