Creating the Tributary SNCP Service

The tributary SNCP protection protects the client services that are accessed by the tributary board. The cross-connection granularity is the ODUk service. Currently, the tributary SNCP is realized by the line board and the tributary board that has the ODUk integrated cross-connection chip.

Context

The tributary SNCP is classified into three types: SNC/I, SNC/N, and SNC/S. The difference between the three types lies in that they have different monitoring abilities and detects different alarms.
  • When the tributary board accesses the OTN services, the SNC/I, SNC/N, and SNC/S are supported.
  • When the tributary board accesses the SONET services, only the SNC/I is supported.

The configuration mode of tributary SNCP protection described in this section can only realize the configuration of selective receiving. The dual fed function needs to be configured at the sink end. Two electrical cross-connect services are independently configured to realize the function.

You can configure bidirectional services with the tributary SNCP protection. To configure a bidirectional service with the tributary SNCP protection, the U2000 Web LCT automatically adds two normal WDM services in the reverse direction on the basis of the unidirectional service with the tributary SNCP protection.

In the example described in this section, the source and sink stations should be configured with the following cross-connect services (supposing that the boards at the source and sink ends share the same configurations):
  • Source: Shelf2(Shelf2)-3-12TQM-201(ClientLP/ClientLP)-1; sink: Shelf2(Shelf2)-2-12NS2-51(ODU1LP/ODU1LP)-1, unidirectional cross-connection
  • Source: Shelf2(Shelf2)-4-12TQM-201(ClientLP/ClientLP)-1; sink: Shelf2(Shelf2)-2-12NS2-51(ODU1LP/ODU1LP)-1, unidirectional cross-connection
NOTE:

For the configuration principle and process of the electrical cross-connection with the tributary SNCP protection, refer to Configuration Guide.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, choose Configuration > Electrical Cross-Connection Service Management from the Function Tree.
  2. In the Electrical Cross-Connection Configuration interface, click Create SNCP. The Create SNCP dialog box is displayed. Select SW SNCP from the Protection Type drop-down list. Then, configure the Service Type and Direction. Refer to SNCP Service Control to enter other parameters of this protection group.

    NOTE:

When configuring the SNCP services, first configure the service type of the WDM interface of the OTU. For detailed configuration method, refer to Configuration Guide.

When you set Direction to Bidirectional, the U2000 Web LCT automatically creates two routes in the reverse direction.

  3. Click OK, and the created protection groups are displayed in the Electrical Cross-Connection Configuration tab.
