Creating and Deleting VLAN SNCP

VLAN SNCP can be configured on the Ethernet board. VLAN SNCP is used to protect the Ethernet services using VLAN.

Prerequisites

You must be an NM user with "NE operator" authority or higher.

It applies to the Ethernet board: 11LEX4, 11LEM24, L4G, TBE and LEM18.

Context

Only the selective receiving configuration of dual fed and selective receiving services is described in this section. For the dual fed services, two Ethernet private line services need be configured at the source of services, and OAM must be enabled for the transmit services. (When creating the VLAN SNCP protection on the TBE board, you can choose not to enable the OAM function because a large amount of traffic may be transmitted.)

In the example described in this section, the source end should be configured with the following Ethernet services (supposing that the boards at the source and sink ends share the same configurations):
  • Source: PORT3; sink: VCTRUNK1
  • Source: PORT3; sink: VCTRUNK2

Precautions

NOTICE:

When creating the VLAN SNCP protection, adhere to the following principles:

  • The client 1+1 protection and the VLAN SNCP cannot be created at the same time.
  • The attribute settings, such as the Ethernet working mode, of client-side services in the main path and those in the standby path must be the same. Otherwise, the services are not available.

Procedure

  1. Select the desired Ethernet board in the NE Explorer, and choose Configuration > Ethernet Service > Ethernet Line Service from the Function Tree.
  2. Select the VLAN SNCP Service Management tab. Click Create VLAN SNCP. The Create VLAN SNCP Service dialog box is displayed.
  3. Select Service Type, configure the parameters of VLAN SNCP services, including the parameters in Working Attribute and Protection Attribute. Refer to Parameters for relevant parameters.

    NOTE:
    • If the Service Type parameter is set to EVPL(QinQ), the following parameters can be configured: Operation Type, Source S-VLAN, Sink S-VLAN.
    • In Port Attribute, some parameters can be modified. If the port attribute has been configured, keep the default values.
    • Service Direction can be set to Unidirectional or Bidirectional. In the case that the uplink and downlink services use the same VLAN ID, Bidirectional is selected.

  4. Click Apply or OK to complete setting the dual fed and selectively receiving services.
  5. Optional: Select the VLAN SNCP protection group, and then click Convert to Normal Service. The service in the VLAN SNCP protection group is converted into normal Ethernet private line service. On the EPL Service interface, select an Ethernet private line service and then click Delete. Click OK in the dialog box displayed, and the Ethernet private line service is deleted.
