Parameters

Following is the description of the parameters of ODUk SNCP protection.

Table 1 lists the parameters involved in the configuration of ODUk SNCP protection.

Table 2 lists the parameters involved in query and modification of ODUk SNCP protection status.

Table 1 Create SNCP

Field

Value

Description

Protection Type

SW SNCP, ODUk SNCP

Specifies the level of the new service.

SNCP Type

  • For SW SNCP
  • For ODUk SNCP: SNC/I, SNC/N, SNC/S

Displays the protection type of the service.

  • The SNC/I protection is for inherent monitoring, and the trigger condition for protection switching is the overhead alarm in SM section. As a result, the scenario that the electrical regenerator is passed through is not supported (in this scenario the overhead in SM section is terminated).
  • The SNC/S protection is for sublayer monitoring, and the trigger condition for protection switching is the overhead alarms in SM and TCM sections. The TCM management should be configured to the source and sink stations of the SNC/S protection.
  • The SNC/N protection is for non-intrusive monitoring, and the trigger condition for protection switching is the overhead alarms in SM and TCM/PM sections. The SNC/N protection can be applied to most scenarios.

Service Type

For SW SNCP: GE, 10GE, FE, OTU1, OTU2, OTU3, OTU5G, STS3, STS12, STS48, STS192, STS768, FC100, FC200, FC400, FC1200, FICON, FICON Express, HDTV, DVB-ASI, DVB-SDI, ESCON, FDDI

For ODUk SNCP: ODU0, ODU1, ODU2, ODU3

Specifies the service type of the new service.

OTN Level

  • Corresponding to ODUk SNCP:
    • SNC/I: Null
    • SNC/N: PM, TCM1-TCM6
    • SNC/S: TCM1-TCM6

Displays the monitoring layer of SNCP.

Revertive Mode

Revertive, Non-Revertive

Default: Non-Revertive

Chooses whether the service is switched to the original working path after the failure is eliminated. If you want the service to be switched back to the original working path then, select Revertive. If you do not want the service to be switched back then, select Non-Revertive.

The default value is recommended.

WTR Time (s)

300-720

Default: 300

Sets the wait-to-restore time. It is the time interval between the time when the working service is detected to be normal after switching and the time when the service is switched back to the working path. You can modify the WTR Time (s) only when the value of Revertive Mode is Revertive.

The default value is recommended.

Working Channel Hold-Off Time (100ms)/Protection Channel Hold-Off Time (100 ms)

0-100

Default: 0

Sets the time interval between the time when the system detects signal degrade and the time when the service switching occurs, in order to avoid repeated switching when the service status is not stable. The switching delay time is in 100 milliseconds. For example, if you enter 5, the delay time is 500 milliseconds.

Sets the delay time. To avoid the repeated switching when the service status is not stable, generally the delay time needs to be set. Especially in the network of multi-protection cascading, to avoid that the switching occurs to downstream protections at the same time, the delay time needs to be set for downstream protections.

The hold-off time of the working and protection channels can be set respectively.

SD Switching

Enabled, Disabled

Default: Disabled

Sets whether SD can trigger the protection switch.

Direction

Unidirectional, Bidirectional

Default: Unidirectional

Sets whether the service is bidirectional or unidirectional.

Remarks

For example: ODUkSNCP-SRV1

Indicates the protection group memo information. It is a string with a maximum length of 64 characters.

Source Slot

Slot-Board Name

Displays the source slot of the cross-connection.

Source Optical Port

Port No. (Port name)

Displays the source port of the cross-connection.

Source Optical Channel

Optical path No.

Displays the source path of the cross-connection.

Sink Slot

Slot-Board Name

Displays the sink slot of the cross-connection.

Sink Optical Port

Port No. (Port name)

Displays the sink port of the cross-connection.

Sink Optical Channel

Slot-Optical port No.-Optical path No.

Displays the sink path of the cross-connection.

ODUflex Timeslots 3 to 7 Indicates the quantity of ODUflex timeslots.
NOTE:
  • Set this parameter when Level of a WDM cross-connection is ODUflex.
  • The quantity of ODUflex timeslots ranges from 3 to 7, and the rate that ODUflex supports is 3.75 Gbit/s (3 x 1.25 Gbit/s) to 8.75 Gbit/s (7 x 1.25 Gbit/s).

Revertive Mode

Revertive, Non-Revertive

Default: Non-Revertive

The default value is recommended.

WTR Time (s)

300-720

Default: 300

Sets the wait-to-restore time. It is the time interval between the time when the working service is detected to be normal after switching and the time when the service is switched back to the working path. You can modify the WTR Time (s) only when the value of Revertive Mode is Revertive.

The default value is recommended.

Working Channel Hold-Off Time (100ms)

0-100

Default: 0

Sets the time interval between the time when the system detects signal degrade and the time when the service switching occurs, in order to avoid repeated switching when the service status is not stable. The switching delay time is expressed in 100 milliseconds.

SD Switching
