Application of the Tributary SNCP Protection

This section describes the application of the tributary SNCP protection.

See Figure 1 and Figure 2. Project T is a point-to-point network that consists of stations A and B. A and B are OTM stations. Client service b between A and B is configured with the tributary SNCP protection in the uplink selective receiving mode.

NOTE:

InFigure 1 and Figure 2, the TQM board is considered as an example to describe the application of the tributary SNCP protection. The TQM1 is the working tributary board and the TQM2 is the protection tributary board.

Figure 1 Application of the tributary SNCP protection (normal)

: Direction of the working signal flow : Direction of the protection signal flow

See Figure 1. At the transmitting end, client service b is sent to the TQM1 and TQM2. The cross-connection in the working channel corresponding to the TQM1 takes effect. The service is transmitted over the working channel. At the receiving end, the tributary SNCP protection does not involve the selective receiving of the service. Users need to configure the selective receiving of the service.

Figure 2 Application of the tributary SNCP protection (switching)

: Direction of the working signal flow : Direction of the protection signal flow

See Figure 2. When the working channel is faulty, the cross-connection in the protection channel corresponding to the TQM2 takes effect at the transmitting end. Client service b is transmitted over the protection channel through the TQM2. At the receiving end, the tributary SNCP protection does not involve the selective receiving of the service. Users need to configure the selective receiving of the service.
