This section describes the involved units of IPA function.
Boards of the following types are involved in realizing the IPA:
Detection board (optional)
- The detection board detects whether the optical power received by each station is normal. For the OptiX OSN 6800A/8800 T16 (NA)/8800 T32 (NA)/8800 T64 (NA), in an NE formed by master/slave subracks, it is suggested to configure the detection board and the shutdown board in the master subrack.
- In the OptiX OSN 3800A/6800A/8800 T16 (NA)/8800 T32 (NA)/8800 T64 (NA), the boards that support this function are the OAU1, OBU1, OBU2 and DAS1.
NOTE: If the system has been configured with an auxiliary detection board to determine fiber cuts, the detection board here can be set to Null on the U2000 Web LCT.
Control implementation board (required)
- The control implementation board only performs the shutdown function. The detection board and the control implementation board cannot physically be the same board no matter if they are in the same IPA pair or not.
- In the OptiX OSN 6800A/8800 T16 (NA)/8800 T32 (NA)/8800 T64 (NA), the boards that support this function are the OAU1, HBA, OBU1, OBU2 and DAS1.
- In the OptiX OSN 3800A, the boards that support this function are the OAU1, OBU1, and OBU2.
Auxiliary detection board (optional)
- These boards detect the service signals, which can be regarded as one condition of the IPA fiber-break detection. The user can configure a maximum of four auxiliary detection conditions. The alarms of boards are not directly reported. Instead, they are summarized according to the logic relationship to be one of the criteria for IPA fiber break.
- In the OptiX OSN 6800A/8800 T16 (NA)/8800 T32 (NA)/8800 T64 (NA), the boards that support this function are the OTU, OSC, NS2, ND2, NS3, NQ2, TOG and DAS1.
- In the OptiX OSN 3800A, the boards that support this function are the OTU, OSC, and NS2.
