This section describes the principle of configuring the ODUk SNCP protection.
The principles of configuring the ODUk SNCP protection are as follows:
- For the OptiX OSN 6800A/8800 T16 (NA)/8800 T32 (NA)/8800 T64 (NA), when the ODUk SNCP is configured, a centralized cross-connections board must be configured.
- For the OptiX OSN 6800A/8800 T16 (NA)/8800 T32 (NA)/8800 T64 (NA), it is recommended to configure the cross-connect board with 1+1 backup protection. The working and the protection cross-connect boards are installed in slot
IU9 and slot IU10 respectively.
- When the ODUk SNCP is configured, you can configure both tributary boards and line boards, or line boards only.
- When the ODUk SNCP protection is configured, two configuration modes are used.
- Configuration mode 1: One ND2/two NS2/two NS3/one NQ2 boards are used as the source, and one TQM/TDX/TQX/TSXL/TOM/TOG is used as the sink.
- Configuration mode 2: One ND2/two NS2/two NS3/one NQ2 boards are used as the source, and one ND2/NS2/NS3/NQ2 is used as the sink. Commonly, this protection scheme is used to protect the dual fed and selective receiving service in the line.
The principles of configuring the ODUk SNCP type are as follows:
- When SNCP Type is set to SNC/S, for the OTN overheads of the NS2, ND2, NQ2 or NS3 board serving as the source, set Sink Mode of the TCM overheads on the corresponding layer of the proper
channel to OPER, and set Sink Enable Status to Enabled.
- SNCP Type is set to SNC/N. If the protection of TCM layer is required, for the TCM overheads of the NS2, ND2, NQ2 or NS3 board serving as the source, set Sink Mode of the TCM overheads on the corresponding layer of the proper channel to TRAN, Sink Enable Status to Enabled, and Non-Intrusive Monitoring to Enabled. If the protection of PM layer is required, for the PM overheads of the NS2, ND2, NQ2 or NS3 board serving as the source, set Non-Intrusive Monitoring to Enabled.
- When SNCP Type is set to SNC/I, there is no requirement of OTN overhead configuration.
When TSXL is applied to configure the ODU2 SNCP protection, a maximum of 4 protection groups can be configured within a TSXL.
- The working route of all the four protection groups should be the same and the protection route of all the four protection groups should be the same.
- The Revertive Mode, WTR Time (s) and the SD Switching of the four protection groups should be manually ensured to be the same .
