Configuration Principle

This section describes the principle of configuring the SW SNCP protection.

NOTE:

OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA) and OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA) do not support this function.

The principles of configuring the SW SNCP protection are as follows:

In the case of OptiX OSN 6800A,

• If it is the SW SNCP at Any level that is required to be configured, the working and the protection OTUs must be of the Any level, including the LQM, LQMS, LQMD, TOM, and TQM.
• If it is the SW SNCP at GE level that is required to be configured, the working and the protection OTUs must be of the GE level, including the LOG, L4G, LQG, LQM, LQMD, LQMS, TBE, TOM and TQM.
• If it is the SW SNCP at Any level that is required to be configured, the working and the protection OTUs must be installed in paired slots.
• If it is the SW SNCP at GE level that is required to be configured, there are two solutions: one is to install the working and the protection OTUs in paired slots; the other is to configure an integrated cross-connect board and the protection OTU can be installed in any slot.
• The XCS is preferred to be installed in slot IU9. If there is a protection XCS, the protection XCS is installed in slot IU10.

NOTE:

In the case of OptiX OSN 6800A, paired slots are 1&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8, 11&12, 13&14, and 15&16.

NOTICE:

• In terms of configuring the SW SNCP services of the L4G and TBE board, note the following rules.
  • Other than the general configuration of dual fed and selective receiving function, the Ethernet interface attributes and Ethernet private line services need to be configured. (For how to configure the Ethernet interface attributes and Ethernet private line services, refer to Configuration Guide.)
  • The client-side service attributes (for example, working mode of the Ethernet) of the corresponding channels of active and standby boards must be the same.
