This section describes the principle of configuring the intra-board 1+1 protection.
The configuration principles of the intra-board 1+1 protection are as follows:
In the case of the OptiX OSN 3800A,
- The intra-board 1+1 protection realized by dual fed and selectively receiving OTUs supports the LQM, TOM, and LQMD boards.
- Dual fed and selectively receiving OTUs are preferred to be installed on the left side of a shelf.
- The intra-board 1+1 protection making use of the OLP or DCP supports the L4G, LOG, LOM, LSX, LQG, TMX, NS2, TBE, TOM, 11LEX4, 11LEM24 boards.
- The OLP and the DCP boards can be installed in slot IU11, IU2 to IU5.
In the case of the OptiX OSN 6800A,
- The intra-board 1+1 protection realized by dual fed and selectively receiving OTUs supports the LQM, TOM, and LQMD boards.
- Dual fed and selectively receiving OTUs are preferred to be installed on the left side of a shelf.
- The intra-board 1+1 protection making use of the OLP or DCP supports the L4G, LOG, LOM, LSX, LSXL, LSQ, LQG, TMX, ND2, NQ2, NS2, NS3, TBE, TOM, 11LEX4, 11LEM24 boards.
- The OLP and the DCP boards can be installed in slot IU1 to slot IU17. They are preferred to be installed beside a protected OTU.
- In the master-slave shelf mode, the OLP, DCP and protected OTU can be installed on different shelves but cannot be installed on different NEs.
In the case of the OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA)/8800 T32(NA)/8800 T64(NA):
- The intra-board 1+1 protection configured by the OTU with the dual fed and selective receiving function is supported by the LQM, TOM and LQMD boards.
- The intra-board 1+1 protection configured by the OLP or DCP is supported by the LOG, LOM, LSX, LSXL, LSQ, TMX, TOG, ND2, NS2, NQ2, NS3, 11LEX4, 11LEM24, 54TOA and 54THA.
- It is recommended that the OLP and DCP be housed next to the protected OTU.
- In the master/slave shelf mode, the OLP/DCP and protected OTU can be housed in different shelves. When the OTU is not configured as a detection unit, the OTU and the OLP/DCP can be housed in different NEs. When the OTU is configured as a detection
unit, the OTU and the OLP/DCP must be housed in the same NE.
- When the 40 Gbit/s board is configured with the intra-board 1+1 protection, the TDC board must be configured on the protection path at the receive end.
In the case of the OptiX OSN 1800(NA),
- The intra-board 1+1 protection configured by the OTU with the dual fed and selective receiving function is supported by the LQG, LDGF, LQM, LQM2 (AP8 mode), LSPU, LSPL, LDGF2 and ELOM.
- The intra-board 1+1 protection configured by the OLP and OTU with the single fed and single receiving function is supported by the LOEU, LOEL LQM2 (2LQM mode) and LEM18.
