Configuration Process

This section describes the configuration of Ethernet services on ONE B.

Prerequisites

Setting the parameters of a port affect the service of the board. Before setting the parameters of a port, configure State of the port as OOS at the Ethernet Interface. After setting the parameters, restore State of the port to IS.

Procedure

  1. Configuring VLAN SNCP protection on ONE B.

    NOTE:

In the project, there is an Ethernet service with SNCP protection between ONEs A and B.

    1. Click the L4G board in slot 106 on the NE Explorer and choose Configuration > Ethernet Service > Ethernet Line Service from the Function Tree. Click the VLAN SNCP Service Management tab.
    2. Click Create VLAN SNCP on the bottom of the interface on the right. The Create VLAN SNCP Service dialog box is displayed.
    3. Enter the attributes of the VLAN SNCP service on the dialog box.

      NOTE:
      • The VLAN ID of the source port must be consistent with that of the sink port.
      • In this project, set the type of ports to UNI and TAG to Hybrid.

    4. Click OK, and the created working and protection services are displayed on the interface.
  2. Configuring EPL services on ONE B.

    NOTE:

In the project, services between ONEs A and C and ONEs A and D are converged with the service between ONEs A and B on ONE B before further transmission. The convergence function is realized by configuring Ethernet private line services.

    1. Click the L4G board in slot 106 on the NE Explorer and choose Configuration > Ethernet Service > Ethernet Line Service from the Function Tree. Click the EPL Service tab.
    2. Click New on the bottom of the interface on the right. The Create Ethernet Line Service dialog box is displayed.
    3. Enter the attributes of the Ethernet private line service on the dialog box.

    4. Click OK, and the created Ethernet private line service is displayed on the interface.
    5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to create another Ethernet private line service.

  3. Configuring electrical cross-connection services on ONE B.

    NOTE:

In the project, services between two ONEs are dual-fed. Hence, you need to create electrical cross-connections on the same L4G board or between the east and west L4G boards on an ONE.

    1. Click NE121 on the NE Explorer, and choose Configuration > Electrical Cross-Connection Service Management from the Function Tree.
    2. Click New on the bottom of the interface on the right. The Create Cross-Connection Service dialog box is displayed.
    3. Enter the attributes of the cross-connection service on the dialog box.

    4. Click OK, and the created cross-connection service is displayed on the interface.
    5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 to create another cross-connection service.
