Configuration Process

This section considers station A as an example to describe the configuration process of the 52TOM board.

Precautions

NOTE:

The OptiX OSN 8800(NA) series does not support ODU1_ANY_ODU0_ODU1 re-encapsulation mode (OTU1->ODU1->Any->ODU0->ODU1) in non-cascading mode.

NOTE:

A ClientLP port can access only one service that has a rate higher than 1.25 Gbit/s, and this service can be configured in only the first channel of the ClientLP port.

NOTE:

The client-side eight pairs of optical interfaces can access services at a maximum rate of 10 Gbit/s.

NOTE:

When the Any service is mapped into the ODU0 service, the 52TOM board supports de-encapsulation and then re-encapsulation of only 10 Any services.

Procedure

  1. Set the Working Mode of the 52TOM board. In the NE Explorer, select a 52TOM board, and choose Configuration > Working Mode from the Function Tree. Set Board Working mode to Non-Cascading and then set Port Working Mode to ODU1_ANY_ODU0_ODU1 re-encapsulation mode (OTU1->ODU1->Any->ODU0->ODU1).
  2. In the NE Explorer, select the desired board , and choose Configuration > WDM Interface from the Function Tree. Set the Service Mode of the client-side interface of 52TOM as OTN mode. For details, refer to Configuring the Service Mode.

    NOTE:

When the 52TOM board accesses OTU1 services on the client side, you first need to set the Service Mode of the 52TOM board to OTN mode.

  3. In the NE Explorer, select the desired board , and choose Configuration > WDM Interface from the Function Tree. Set the Service Type for the WDM interface on the 52TOM board to OTU1 and also set the Service Type for the in-use AnyLP interfaces. For details, refer to Configuring the Service Type.
  4. Configure the OTU1 cross-connection between the RX/TX and ClientLP interfaces on the 52TOM board.
    1. Configure an OTU1 cross-connection between the 3(RX1/TX1) interface and the 201(ClientLP1/ClientLP1) interface on 52TOM board.

      Parameters Value

      Level

      OTU1

      Service Type

      -

      Direction

      Bidirectional

      Source Slot

      Shelf2(Subrack2)-15-52TOM

      Source Optical Port

      3(RX1/TX1)

      Source Optical Channel (eg.1,3-6)

      1

      Sink Slot

      Shelf2(Subrack2)-15-52TOM

      Sink Optical Port

      201(ClientLP1/ClentLP1)

      Sink Optical Channel (eg.1,3-6)

      1

      NOTE:

The Service Type must be the same as the Service Type at the WDM interface of the 52TOM board.

    2. Repeat 4.a to configure the remaining OTU1 services.
  5. Set Service Type in the WDM Interface window of the TN52TOM board. For details, see Configuring the Service Type

    NOTE:
When configuring internal cross-connections for Any services on the TN52TOM board. set the service type to the same as the type of services, which are encapsulated into the OTU1 services received on the client side of the TN52TOM board. For example, if FE services are encapsulated into OTU1 services on the upstream board of the TN52TOM board, set the service type to FE when configuring the internal cross-connections for Any services on the TN52TOM board.

  6. Configure internal cross-connections of the Any service on the 52TOM board to reshuffle the Any services on the board.

    NOTE:

In this scenario, for Any services, only the FE, GE, FC100, FICON, DVB-AS, DVB-SDI, ESCON, and FDDI services can be accessed.

    1. Configuring an Any cross-connection in the 52TOM board.

      Parameters Value

      Level

      ANY

      Service Type

      FE

      Direction

      Bidirectional

      Source Slot

      Shelf2(Subrack2)-15-52TOM

      Source Optical Port

      233(AnyLP1/AnyLP1)

      Source Optical Channel (eg.1,3-6)

      1

      Sink Slot

      Shelf2(Subrack2)-15-52TOM

      Sink Optical Port

      237(AnyLP5/AnyLP5)

      Sink Optical Channel (eg.1,3-6)

      1

      NOTE:

The Service Type must be the same as the Service Type at the WDM interface of the 52TOM board.

Services of the AnyLP1 port can only be configured on the AnyLP5 and AnyLP6 ports. Services of the AnyLP2 port can only be configured on the AnyLP7 and AnyLP8 ports. The rest may be deduced by analogy.

    2. Repeat 6.a to configure the remaining Any services.
  7. Configure ODU1 cross-connections between the 52TOM and 52NS2 boards.
    1. Configure an ODU1 cross-connection between the 201(ClientLP1/ClientLP1) interface on 52TOM board and the 51(ODU1LP/ODU1LP) interface on 52NS2 board.

      Parameters Value

      Level

      ODU1

      Service Type

      -

      Direction

      Bidirectional

      Source Slot

      Shelf2(Subrack2)-15-52TOM

      Source Optical Port

      201(ClientLP1/ClentLP1)

      Source Optical Channel (eg.1,3-6)

      1

      Sink Slot

      Shelf2(Subrack2)-12-NS2

      1

    2. Repeat 7.a to configure ODU1 cross-connections between other 52TOM and 52NS2 boards.
