This chapter describes the configuration of Ethernet services.
Through the configuration of Ethernet services and electrical cross-connections,
the flexible grooming of Ethernet services are realized.
Ethernet Service Types
The WDM equipment supports the following Ethernet services: Ethernet private line (EPL), Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL), and Ethernet private local area network (EPLAN) services.
Basic Concepts
This section describes the basic concepts of configuring the Ethernet service.
Configuring EPL Services
You can configure EPL services on a per-NE basis by following the instructions below.
Configuring EPLAN Services
You can configure EPLAN services on a per-NE basis by following the instructions below.
Configuring VLAN Groups
The U2000 Web LCT supports configuring Ethernet VLAN groups. You can bind specified continuous VLANs as a group. The procedure for configuring a service is similar to the procedure for configuring a single VLAN. This extends the number of supported VLAN flows.
Configuring the Aging Time for MAC Addresses
You can configure the aging time for MAC addresses, to realize the dynamic address aging function. The MAC addresses that do not appear again in the transport network in the duration of the aging time are regarded as having no route requirements. The MAC addresses are deleted from the MAC address table, so that the MAC address table can contain more MAC addresses.
Configuring Port Mirroring
With the port mirroring function, you can observe the service packets on the port without interrupting services. This facilitates the operations, such as test, service activation, routine maintenance and in-service commissioning.
Configuring MAC Address Filtering
MAC address filtering is a broadband transmission solution oriented to alleviate the secondary router load.
Diagnosing Ethernet Protocol Faults
When the Ethernet protocol operates abnormally, the U2000 Web LCT diagnoses the protocol fault, displays the diagnosis contents, and restores the normal operation of the Ethernet protocol.
Parameters
This section describes the parameters of Ethernet services.
Application Example
This section describes the configuration case of Ethernet services.
