Service Type

This topic describes the service types that are supported in the WDM service configuration.

Access Service

The OptiX OSN 3800A, OptiX OSN 6800A, OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA) and OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA) support multiple access services, such as the synchronous optical network (SONET) service, Ethernet service, storage area network (SAN) service, optical transport network (OTN) service, and video service.

Table 1 lists the access services that the OptiX OSN 3800A/6800A supports.

NOTE:

The PON services that can be transparently transmitted by the OptiX OSN 1800(NA) can be GPON or EPON. In the case of GPON and EPON services, no service configuration needs to be made on the board by using the network management system.
