In this user interface, you can query and set the TAG attribute for a PORT port or a VCTRUNK port.
In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose from the Function Tree. Click the TAG Attributes tab. For PORT, select External Port; for VCTRUNK, select Internal Port.
Field |
Value |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Port |
PORTn or VCTRUNKn |
VCTRUNK port. "n" is the port number. |
TAG |
Tag Aware, Access, Hybrid |
The tag is used for setting which type of data packets can be processed. Set this parameter to Tag Aware to enable the port to transparently transmit packets that have the VLAN ID (tag). If packets do not have the VLAN ID (untag), the packets are discarded. Default VLAN ID and VLAN priority cannot be edited. Set this parameter to Access to enable the port to add the default VLAN ID to packets that do not have the VLAN ID (untag). If the packets have the VLAN ID (tag), the packets are discarded. Set this parameter to Hybrid to enable the port to add the default VLAN ID to the packets that do not have the VLAN ID (untag). If the packets have the VLAN ID (tag), the packets are transparently transmitted. The tag attribute is effective only when the network attribute of the port is PE or UNI. |
Default VLAN ID |
For example: 1 to 4095 |
The default VLAN ID of packets that passes through the port. Enter the default VLAN ID only when you set TAG to Access or Hybrid. When you set TAG to Access, packets that have the same VLAN ID as the default VLAN ID are discarded, and packets without a VLAN are added with the default VLAN ID and then pass the port. When you set TAG to Hybrid, tagged packets are allowed to pass, and packets without a tag are added with the default VLAN ID and then pass the port. |
VLAN Priority |
0 to 7 |
A parameter indicates the QoS level. When the network is busy, data packets of higher VLAN priority are processed first and those of lower VLAN priority may be discarded. 0 is lowest priority and 7 the highest. This parameter is available only when you set TAG to Access or Hybrid. |
Entry Detection |
Enabled, Disabled |
Sets to whether to identify the tag labels in the data packets. |
