Flow Control (External Port)

In this user interface, you can enable and disable the auto-negotiation or non-auto-negotiation flow control mode for an external port.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select the board and choose Configuration > Ethernet Interface Management > Ethernet Interface from the Function Tree. Click the External Port and click Flow Control tab.

Note

The working mode of a port directly affect the flow control mode of the port. For example, if the working mode is auto-negotiation, you can only choose the auto-negotiation flow control mode. If the working mode is non-auto-negotiation mode, you can only choose the non-auto-negotiation flow control mode.

Non-Autonegotiation Flow Control Mode	Disabled, Enable Symmetric Flow Control, Send Only, Receive Only	Specifies the flow control mode when the working mode of a PORT port is non-auto-negotiation. If the working mode of the port is non-auto-negotiation, you can only choose the non-auto-negotiation flow control mode. Enable Symmetric Flow Control: The port can both transmit and receive PAUSE frames. Send Only: The port can only send PAUSE frames. Receive Only: The port can only receive PAUSE frames.
Autonegotiation Flow Control Mode	Disabled, Enable Dissymmetric Flow Control, Enable Symmetric Flow Control, Enable Symmetric/Dissymmetric Flow Control	Specifies the flow control mode when the working mode of a port is auto-negotiation. If the working mode of the port is auto-negotiation, you can only choose the auto-negotiation flow control mode. To enable dissymmetric flow control means to send PAUSE frames only, not receive. To enable symmetric flow control means to send and receive PAUSE frames. To enable symmetric/dissymmetric flow control means to determine a flow control mode (symmetric or dissymmetric) through auto-negotiation.

Specifies the flow control mode when the working mode of a port is auto-negotiation.

If the working mode of the port is auto-negotiation, you can only choose the auto-negotiation flow control mode. To enable dissymmetric flow control means to send PAUSE frames only, not receive. To enable symmetric flow control means to send and receive PAUSE frames. To enable symmetric/dissymmetric flow control means to determine a flow control mode (symmetric or dissymmetric) through auto-negotiation.
