WDM Interface

In this window, you can configure the WDM interface.

On the right side of the WDM interface, there are four domains from the top down:

Two radio buttons ("By Card/Channel" and "By Function") that are used to select the attribute classification mode.
The object that needs to be set after the classification, which varies with the first domain.
Attribute setting area, which varies with the second domain. Double-click or select to set attributes (for attribute description, refer to parameter description).
Two buttons at the bottom: Query and Apply. Before setting, you can click Query to query the board attribute from the NE and after setting you need to click Apply to send the configurations.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose Configuration > WDM Interface from the Function Tree.

Optical Transponder Unit
The Optical Transponder Unit is located at the edge of the open WDM system, which converts the wavelengths of the accessed optical signals for transmitting them within a WDM system. After being installed, the optical transponder unit should be configured through this interface, thus loopback and cross-connect loopback can be set for fault localization.
Multiplexer and Demultiplexer
The multiplexer/demultiplexer unit is the core unit of the WDM system, which multiplex/demultiplex signals. It greatly economizes the fiber resources and enhances the transmission rate of the fiber. After being installed, the multiplexer/demultiplexer unit needs to be configured through this interface.
Optical Add/Drop Multiplexing Unit
Optical add/drop multiplexing unit is the core device of the OADM equipment, which adds/drops several channels of optical signals. After being installed, the optical add/drop multiplexing unit need to be configured through this interface.
Tributary and Line Boards
In this user interface, you can set parameters for tributary and line board boards, such as laser status, automatic laser shutdown and path use status.
Optical Amplifier Unit
The optical amplifier unit amplifies and equalize the optical power, greatly enhancing the transmission distance of the radio relay and the signal-to-noise of the optical signal. After being installed, the optical booster amplifier unit need to be configured through this interface.
Optical Supervisory Channel Unit
The optical supervisory channel unit monitors the optical channel and collects and transmits the orderwire and network management information. After being installed, the optical supervisory channel unit needs to be configured through this interface.
Protection Board
In this user interface, you can set parameters for optical transponder boards. The parameters are laser status, automatic laser shutdown, maximum or minimum attenuation rate and path use status.
Spectrum Analysis Unit
The spectrum analysis unit provides the built-in in-service spectrum analysis and monitoring functions for the system. It can, with the service not interrupted, monitor such parameters as central wavelength, power and signal-to-noise of the optical signal in the system and report the result to the SCC unit and the network management system for the convenience of equipment debugging and maintenance. After being installed, the spectrum analyzer unit needs to be configured through this interface.
Variable Optical Attenuation Unit
The variable optical attenuator unit can detect and adjust the channel optical power in real time, which is used to maintain the power value within the system required range. After being installed, the variable optical attenuator unit needs to be configured through this interface.
Dispersion Compensation Board
In this user interface, you can query parameters for dispersion compensation boards.
