PRBS Test

In this user interface, you can perform an in-service PRBS test for a board of WDM equipment. The test result is displayed in the coordinates pane.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click a board and choose Configuration > PRBS Test from the Function Tree.

NOTICE:

The PRBS test will interrupt the service.

Parameters

Field

Value

Description

Port

  • Equipment that supports the master and slave shelf management: shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name-port number(port name)
  • Equipment that does not support the master and slave shelf management: slot number-board name-port number(port name)

Displays the port.

Start Time

yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss

Displays the start time of the test.

For example: 2004-12-6 15:40:12.

Elapsed Time (min)

Minutes

Default: 0

Displays the elapsed time of the test.

Progress

Percentage

For example: 0%

Displays the progress of the test.

State

INITIAL, RUNNING, STOPPED, Abnormal Stopped

Default: INITIAL

INITIAL: For the NM, this port has never been tested.

RUNNING: The test is performing.

STOPPED: The test has been stopped.

Abnormal Stopped: NM detect the test has been abnormally stopped.

Test Mode

SPLTE, SPLTF

Default: SPLTE

Indicates the requested test mode. The expected entries for this parameter are listed below:

SPLTE: Split both the A and B paths (the direction of A path is from equipment test access point to facility test access point, and the direction of B path opposite to that of A) and connect a signal presence detector to the line incoming from the E direction (equipment test access point direction) and a test signal to the line outgoing in the E direction. The line outgoing in the F direction (facility test access point direction) shall have an AIS signal connected, and the line incoming from the F direction shall be terminated by the nominal characteristic impedance of the line.

SPLTF: Split both the A and B paths and connect a signal presence detector to the line incoming from the F direction and a test signal to the line outgoing in the F direction. The line outgoing in the E direction shall have an AIS signal connected, and the line incoming from the E direction shall be terminated by the nominal characteristic impedance of the line.

Test Duration (min)

To enter: 0 to 9999 minutes

To enter: long-term, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours

Default is 0

Displays the time in minutes that bit sequence test sustains. If the value is 0, long-term PRBS test is to be performed.

Report Interval (s)

1 second, 2 seconds, 6 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour

Default: 2s

Reports interval in seconds. If the value is 0, the PRBS test will be reported only once when the test is finished.

Time

yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss

Displays the report time of the test.

For example: 2004-12-6 15:40:12

Errored seconds count based on LSS

0 to 4,294,967,295

Errored seconds count based on LSS (Loss of sequence synchronization) detected, if the maximum count reached, a literal "OC" is added follow it.

Elapsed Time

Displays the elapsed time.

Total Bits Errors

0 to 4,294,967,295

Total bit error count (32 bit counter), if the maximum count reached, a literal "OC" is added follow it.

Error Count

Displays the error count.

Current Status

Displays the current status.
