TCM Overhead

In this user interface, you can set Tandem Connection Monitoring (TCM) overhead bytes and relevant parameters.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click a board and choose Configuration > OTN > TCM Overhead from the Function Tree.

Parameters

Description

Object

  • Equipment that supports the master and slave shelf management: NE name-shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name-port number(port name)(-monitoring level)
  • Equipment that does not support the master and slave shelf management: NE name-slot number-board name-port number(port name)(-monitoring level)

Displays the object that the TCM overhead monitors.

Primary,Secondary State

For example: OOS-AU, SGEO

Displays the state of the object.

Level

TCM1, TCM2, TCM3, TCM4, TCM5, TCM6

Displays the TCM layer.

You can divide the services into layers for management.

TCM Status

Unused, Used, Reserved, LCK, OCI, AIS

Displays the status of the TCM overhead.

Source Mode

TRAN, OPER

Sets the mode of source disposes TCM Overhead. When the Source Enable Status is set to Enabled:
  • OPER: Monitors the alarm and performance of this TCM, terminates the overhead and alarm of it, and insert at the opposite end a corresponding alarm, such as, BDI.
  • TRAN: Does not monitor the alarm and performance of this TCM.

Sink Mode

TRAN, MON, OPER

Sets the mode of sink disposes TCM Overhead. When the Sink Enable Status is set to Enabled:
  • OPER: Monitors the alarm and performance of this TCM, terminates the overhead and alarm of it, and insert at the opposite end a corresponding alarm, such as, BDI.
  • MON: Monitors the alarm and performance of this TCM, transparently transmits the overhead and alarm of it, and insert at the opposite end a corresponding alarm, such as, BDI.
  • TRAN: Does not monitor the alarm and performance of this TCM.

TIM Mode

SAPI, DAPI, BOTH, OFF

Sets the mode of detecting trail trace identifier mismatch.
  • SAPI: Only the source tag of the TTI is detected. When the source tag of the TTI to be Received is inconsistent with that of the TTI Received, an alarm is reported.
  • DAPI: Only the sink tag of the TTI is detected. When the sink tag of the TTI to be Received is inconsistent with that of the TTI Received, an alarm is reported.
  • BOTH: Both the source tag and sink tag of the TTI are detected at the same time. When the source tag or sink tag of the TTI to be Received is inconsistent with that of the TTI Received, an alarm is reported.
  • OFF: Neither the source tag or the sink tag is detected. Even if the source tag or sink tag of the TTI to be Received is inconsistent with that of the TTI Received, no alarm is reported.

Source Enable Status

DISABLE, ENABLE

Sets whether the port is the source of TCM. To monitor the service source on the current node, set the Source Mode to Operation Mode, and the Source Enable Status to Enabled.

Sink Enable Status

DISABLE, ENABLE

Sets whether the port is the sink of TCM. To monitor the service sink on the current node, set the Sink Mode to Operation Mode or Monitoring Mode, and the Sink Enable Status to Disabled.

TTI to Be Sent SAPI

The maximum length is 15 characters.

Sets SAPI string of the trail trace identifier (TTI) to be sent by the port.

TTI to Be Sent DAPI

The maximum length is 15 characters.

Sets DAPI string of the trail trace identifier (TTI) to be sent by the port.

TTI to Be Sent OPER

The maximum length is 32 characters.

Sets OPER string of the trail trace identifier (TTI) to be sent by the port.

TTI to Be Received SAPI

The maximum length is 15 characters.

Sets SAPI string of the TTI that should be received by the port.

TTI to Be Received DAPI

The maximum length is 15 characters.

Sets DAPI string of the TTI that should be received by the port.

TTI Recevied SAPI

The maximum length is 15 characters.

Displays SAPI string of the TTI received by the port.

TTI Received DAPI

The maximum length is 15 characters.

Displays SAPI string of the TTI received by the port.

TTI Received OPER

The maximum length is 32 characters.

Displays OPER string of the TTI received by the port.

DEG Threshold

For example: 49424

Sets the DEG threshold when the BIP8 Detection Mode is set as BURST.

DEG Detection Time

1 to 10

Sets the DEG monitoring time when the BIP8 Detection Mode is set as BURST.

BIP8 Detection Mode

BURST, POISSON

Sets the BIP8 error detection mode.

TCM BIP-8 SFBER

1E-3, 1E-4, 1E-5

Sets the performance degradation threshold when the BIP8 bit errors are detected. A signal degrade occurs if the signal bit error rate reaches this value.

TCM BIP-8 SDBER

1E-5, 1E-6, 1E-7,1E-8, 1E-9

Sets the performance threshold-crossing threshold when the BIP8 bit errors are detected.

Enable LTC Response

DISABLE, ENABLE

Sets whether to enable the LTC follow-up response or not.

LCK Insertion

DISABLE, ENABLE

Sets whether to enable the LCK insertion or not.

Non-Intrusive Monitoring

DISABLE, ENABLE

Sets whether to enable the non-intrusive monitoring or not.

Enable TIM Response

DISABLE, ENABLE

Sets whether to enable the TIM follow-up response or not. When a TIM alarm is generated at this end, an AIS alarm is inserted to services in the downstream direction. This interrupts the services in the downstream direction.

DEG Detection Time Window (ms)

10, 100, 1000

Default: 1000

Set the interval time slice of DEG.
