Laser Spectrum Analysis

The laser spectrum analysis is used to analyze an optical signal and to determine parameters such as optical powers, central wavelengths and optical signal noise ratios (OSNR) of the optical paths. You can use this function to determine the transmission quality of the current optical signal. In this user interface, you can query and print the spectrum analysis result of the optical signal.

Parameters

Field

Value

Description

No.

For example: 1

Displays the serial number for the signal of each wavelength.

Port Number

For example: 1(IN1)

Displays the port number of each path of the spectrum analysis board.

For MCA4, there are four ports. For MCA8, there are eight ports.

Board Type

For example: OAU

Displays the type of the peer NE connected to the local NE.

Compensation Power (dBm)

For example: 20

Displays the recommended compensation power value according to the local and peer NE types.

Standard Wavelength (nm)/Frequency (THz)

For example: 1529.16/196.063

Displays the result of the optical performance data after spectrum analysis.

Standard Wavelength (nm)/Frequency (THz): Indicates the standard central wavelength of the optical path.

Central Wavelength (nm)/Frequency (THz)

For example: 1529.16/196.050

Indicates the actual central wavelength of the optical path.

Wavelength Deviation (nm)

For example: -0.2

Deviation between the standard wavelength and the actual wavelength.

Optical Power (dBm)

For example: -60.0

Displays the optical power currently.

OSNR(dB)

For example: 25.6

The optical signal noise ratio of the optical path.

Spectrum Data

Standard Wavelength (nm)/Frequency (THz), Central Wavelength (nm)/Frequency (THz), Wavelength Deviation (nm), Optical Power (dBm), OSNR(dB)

Displays the result of the optical performance data after spectrum analysis.

OSNR(dB): the optical signal noise ratio of the optical path.

Spectrum Waveform

None

Displays spectrum data in graphics.

Profile

None

Displays the spectrum profile of the optical signal.

X-Axis Frequency

Checked, Unchecked

Specifies that the X-axis for the Spectrum Data, Spectrum Waveform, and Profile represents the frequency.

X-Axis Wavelength

Checked, Unchecked

Specifies that the X-axis for the Spectrum Data, Spectrum Waveform, and Profile represents the wavelength.
