Board-Level Protection

In this user interface, you can configure board-level protection, including setting the protection switching pair, setting switching conditions, and performing protection switching operations.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select Configuration > Board-Level Protection from the Function Tree.

Queries the switching status and configuration of board-level protection from the NE.

Applies configuration data to the NE.

Creates a board-level protection group.

Deletes a board-level protection group.

Description

Force to Working Channel

Forces the service to switch to the working board. This switching is performed regardless of the working board state, unless the working board is satisfying a higher priority bridging request.

Force to Protection Channel

Forces the service to switch to the protection board. This switching is performed regardless of the protection board state, unless the protection board is satisfying a higher priority bridging request.

Clear

Clears the current switching status.

Working Board

  • Equipment that supports the master and slave shelf management: shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name
  • Equipment that does not support the master and slave shelf management: slot number-board name

Displays the working board specified during protection group creation.

Protection Board

  • Equipment that supports the master and slave shelf management: shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name
  • Equipment that does not support the master and slave shelf management: slot number-board name

Displays the protection board specified during protection group creation.

Active Board

Working Board, Protection Board

Displays the current active board.

Switching Status

Forced Switch Request, Auto Switching, IDLE

Displays the current switching status.

Extended Control Unit

Not Extended, SCS Extension

When one working service and one protection service are accessed to the working and protection boards respectively, the Extended Control Unit is Not Extended. When one service is accessed, the SCS board needs to duplicate the service and access the two services to the working and protection boards respectively. In this case, the Extended Control Unit is SCS Extension.

Group State

IS, OOS

Sets the group state.

IS: In service

OOS: Out of service
