Configuring the CoS

The CoS function classifies packets and grooms them to egress port queues of different priorities. The packets that are groomed to a higher priority queue are processed first.

Prerequisites

Applies to the 11LEX4, 11LEM24, TBE, L4G board of the OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA), OptiX OSN 6800A and the OptiX OSN 3800A.

Applicable to the LEM18 board of the OptiX OSN 1800(NA).

The Ethernet service must be created.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose Configuration > QoS Management > Flow Management from the Function Tree.
  2. Click the CoS Configuration tab. Click New and the New CoS dialog box is displayed.
  3. Set the CoS ID, Cos Type and other parameters.

  4. Click OK.
