Configuring the Port Shaping

Through configuring the port shaping function, the U2000 Web LCT can enable the flow control function at the Ethernet source port.

Prerequisites

Applies to the 11LEX4, 11LEM24, TBE, L4G board of the OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA), OptiX OSN 6800A and the OptiX OSN 3800A.

Applicable to the LEM18 board of the OptiX OSN 1800(NA).

The Ethernet service must be created.

Precaution

NOTE:

Setting the parameters of a port affect the service of the board. Before setting the parameters of a port, configure State of the port as OOS at the Ethernet Interface. After setting the parameters, restore State of the port to IS.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose Configuration > QoS Management > Port Shaping Management from the Function Tree.
  2. In the Port List, click the port to be configured. In the Port Queue Shaping Information table, set the parameters of the corresponding port queues.

    NOTE:
The parameters are described as follows:
    • Port: The port for flow control needs to be configured.
    • Port Queue: From port 1 to port 4, the priority of sending the IP packet is degressive in turn.
    • Status: Sets whether to enable the port alignment.
    • CIR(kbit/s): Enters or selects a value. Sets the bandwidth that can be guaranteed of the sink port.
    • DCBS(kbyte): For WDM NEs, the value range is 16 to 512. Sets the buffer capacity of the sink port.
    • PIR(kbit/s): Sets the peak bandwidth.
    • DMBS(kbyte): Sets the buffer capacity of CBS.

  3. Click Apply.
