This section describes the VLAN group and its application scenarios.
VLAN Group
The U2000 Web LCT and its managed NG WDM equipment categorize some consecutive VLAN services accessed (usually service demands of the same type) in a group
to form a VLAN group. The U2000 Web LCT uses the initial VLAN ID of the VLAN group to perform operations such as creating services, managing QoS flows, and managing ETH OAMs. In this way, other
VLAN services in the group have the same configuration.
VLAN Group Application Scenarios
Currently, QinQ cannot be performed to the digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM). According to the requirements of the broadband remote access server (BRAS), the VLAN grouping
should provide the broadband bearer solution from the DSLAM to the BRAS in the scenario of two layers of VLAN verification.
The main service scenarios that provided by the NG WDM are as follows:
- Convergence from GE to 10GE. The BRAS has the 10GE access port. The GE service of the DSLAM is converged to the 10GE of the BRAS/PE by using the NG WDM VLAN group.
- Convergence from GE to GE. The BRAS increases the port density. The WDM equipment realizes GE transparent transmission or GE convergence from the DSLAM to the BRAS.
- Private line from GE to GE. In the MAN enterprise private lines, point-to-point service transparent transmission is required. A typical transmission channel is used to transmit services in the 10GE optical line networking by using the WDM equipment.
GE tunnel services are accessed at the client side of the WDM equipment. Then, the GE services are multiplexed to the 10GE line for transmission by using the VLAN group.
