Adding a Port to an LAG

With link aggregation, members in an LAG share the output and input service loads, to increase bandwidth. In actual applications, you can add an aggregation port to an existing LAG.

Prerequisites

The LAG must be created.

Precautions

NOTICE:

This operation may interrupt services in a LAG.

NOTE:

Setting the parameters of a port affect the service of the board. Before setting the parameters of a port, configure State of the port as OOS at the Ethernet Interface. After setting the parameters, restore State of the port to IS.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an Ethernet board and choose Configuration > Ethernet Interface Management > Ethernet Link Aggregation Management from the Function Tree.
  2. Click the Link Aggregation Group Management tab.
  3. Select an LAG, click Modify, and the Modify Link Aggregation Group dialog box is displayed. In the Available Standby Ports pane, select the port that you want to add and click to add the port to the Selected Standby Ports pane.

  4. Click OK.
