Adding the MAC Address of the Opposite Router

On the Ethernet data board of the standby station, add the MAC address of the opposite router, to realize the filtering of MAC address on the standby station.

Prerequisites

Applicable to the 11LEX4, 11LEM24, TBE, L4G board of the OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA), OptiX OSN 6800A and the OptiX OSN 3800A.

Applicable to the 11LEX4, 11LEM24, TBE, L4G board of the OptiX OSN 1800(NA).

Context

NOTE:
  • On Windows:
    To complete the operation, you need to set the General tab of the Internet option of the browser as follows:
    1. In Internet Temporary Files, click Settings. The Settings dialog box is displayed.
    2. In Check for newer version of stored pages, select Every visit to the page.
  • On Solaris:
    1. Install the flash plug-in.
    2. Navigate to Mozilla, and enter about:config in the address bar. In Filter, enter cache. Then, set the Value of browser.cache.disk.enable to true.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an Ethernet data board and choose Configuration > Ethernet Maintenance > Port MAC Address Filtering from the function tree.
  2. Click New, the Create MAC Address Filter dialog box is played.
  3. Set the MAC Address. Click OK. Then, the added MAC address of the opposite router is displayed in the list.
