Creating Maintenance Associations

An maintenance domain can be divided into several independent maintenance associations (MA). By creating MAs, operators can associate specific Ethernet services with the MAs for easy Ethernet OAM operation.

Prerequisites

  • Applicable to the 11LEX4, 11LEM24, TBE board of the OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA), OptiX OSN 6800A and OptiX OSN 3800A.
  • Applicable to the LEM18 board of the OptiX OSN 1800(NA).
  • An MD must be created.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an Ethernet board and choose Configuration > Ethernet Maintenance > Ethernet Service OAM from the Function Tree.
  2. Click OAM Configuration and click New > New Maintenance Association in the displayed OAM Configuration dialog box. The New Maintenance Association dialog box is displayed.
  3. Enter parameters related to the MA.



  4. Click OK.

    NOTE:
    To exit the OAM Configuration dialog box, click Cancel in the dialog box.
