Creating Maintenance Domains

Maintenance domain (MD) defines the range and level of Ethernet OAM. MDs of different ranges and levels can provide differential OAM services for users.

Prerequisites

  • Applicable to the TBE board of the OptiX OSN 6800A and OptiX OSN 3800A.
  • Applicable to the 11LEX4, 11LEM24 board of the OptiX OSN 6800A, OptiX OSN 3800A, OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA) and OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA).
  • Applicable to the LEM18 board of the OptiX OSN 1800(NA).

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an Ethernet board and choose Configuration > Ethernet Maintenance > Ethernet Service OAM from the Function Tree.
  2. Click OAM Configuration and click New > New Maintenance Domain in the displayed OAM Configuration dialog box. The New Maintenance Domain dialog box is displayed.
  3. Enter parameters related to the MD.



  4. Click OK.

    NOTE:
    To exit the OAM Configuration dialog box, click Cancel in the dialog box.
