You can perform a loopback (LB) check on Ethernet services without interrupting services to check the connectivity of the services for locating and handling faults.
Background Information
During the LB check, the source MEP constructs and transmits the LBM frames and starts the timer. If the destination MP receives the LBM frames, it sends the LBR frames back to the source MEP. This indicates
that the loopback is successful. If the source MEP timer times out, the loopback fails.
