When you reconstruct or optimize a network, you need to modify the IP addresses and subnet masks of some NEs. This section describes how to modify the IP address and subnet mask of an NE.
Background Information
- When the U2000 Web LCT communicates with an NE through TP4 protocol, the communication address of this NE is the NSAP address. When the U2000 Web LCT communicates with an NE through TCP/IP protocol, the communication address of this NE is the IP address.
- The communication mode and address of an NE are determined when the NE is created. Generally, you do not need to modify the communication address and the subnet mask.
- If the TP4 connection is set up between the U2000 Web LCT and an NE, configuring the IP address of this NE does not affect the communication between the U2000 Web LCT and the NE.
NOTICE: Modifying the IP address of an NE may interrupt the communication between the NE and the U2000 Web LCT.
Procedure
- In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose from the Function Tree.
- Enter the new IP address in the IP Address field.
- Enter the new subnet mask value in the Subnet Mask.
- Click Apply. In the Confirm dialog box that is displayed for two times, click OK and then click Close in the Operation Result dialog
box.
