Adding a Slave Subrack

After slave subracks are added, multiple NEs of the same type can communicate with the U2000 Web LCT through a main subrack. Thus, the service grooming capability of the equipment is enhanced.

Context

The subracks of the OptiX OSN 6800A, OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA), OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA) and OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA) can be used in a combined way. For example, OptiX OSN 8800 T64(NA) subrack can be installed as the master subrack with the OptiX OSN 6800A subrack, OptiX OSN 8800 T16(NA) subrack or the OptiX OSN 8800 T32(NA) subrack as its slave subrack. You can install at most seven slave subracks for one master subrack.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, click the Slot Layout table.
  2. In the right-hand pane, right-click and choose Add Slave Shelf from the shortcut menu. The Add Slave Shelf dialog box is displayed.
  3. Set parameters and click OK.
