SDH/PDH Service Management

In this user interface, you can configure line and tributary services for stations, such as services at VC4, VC3 and VC12 levels. In addition, you can configure SNCP services and other services. You can query, delete, activate/deactivate, print, and bind/unbind services. You can also customize columns to display important parameters.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select Configuration > SDH/PDH Service Management from the Function Tree.

NOTICE:

"Auto-Created Cross-Connect" displayed in this user interface refers to the service automatically generated in the U2000 Web LCT during service configuration. For example, when the network where the NE resides is a path protection ring, if the working service is created, the duplicate protection service is automatically generated.

NOTE:
Deactivating a service will interrupt the service.

Guideline

  • You can only configure the VC3 cross-connection and VC4 cross-connection on the EGSH board.
  • The service level and timeslot of the cross-connection created must be consistent with the level and timeslot of the bound port of the Ethernet board.

Buttons

Button

Description

Create

Displays a dialog box for the user to create the service. The user can set Activate Immediately to Yes to send the configuration to the NE.

Create SNCP Service

Displays a dialog box for the user to create the SNCP service. The user can set Activate Immediately to Yes to send the configuration to the NE.

Activate

Sends the service to the NE. Multiple services can be activated at a time.

Deactivate

Makes the service invalid on the NE. Multiple services can be deactivated at a time.

Filter

Sets the filter conditions, including Level, Port, VC4, Service Type, Source VC4, Sink VC4, Source Port, Sink Port, Bound Group ID, Activation Status, and Trail Name.

Display

Fold

Enables the folded display of services with consecutive channel numbers, for example, 1 to 16.

Expand to Unidirectional

Displays all services separately as unidirectional services no matter whether the channel numbers are consecutive or not.

Expand to Bidirectional

Displays all services separately as bidirectional services no matter whether the channel numbers are consecutive or not.

Options

Interleaved, Sequential Mode (ITU-T)

Specifies the numbering strategy for VC12 timeslots.

NOTE:

Modifying the timeslot mode only changes the display mode of the timeslot but does not affect the service provisioning.

Complete Service

Completes lost protection services in an LMSP group.

Deactivate ALL

Deactivates all cross-connections. Click this button after selecting one or more SDH services (one SNCP or SNCMP service at least) and clicking Deactivate.

Deactivate Selected

Deactivates selected cross-connections. Click this button after selecting one or more SDH services (one SNCP or SNCMP service at least) and clicking Deactivate.

Delete ALL

Deletes all cross-connections. Click this button after selecting one or more SDH services (one SNCP or SNCMP service at least) and clicking Delete.

Delete Selected

Deletes selected cross-connections. Click this button after selecting one or more SDH services (one SNCP or SNCMP service at least) and clicking Delete.

Shortcut Menu Items

Item

Description

Select All

Selects all the services in the cross-connection table.

Search

Searches for SDH services.

Expand to Unidirectional

Displays all services separately as unidirectional services no matter whether the channel numbers are consecutive or not.

Expand to Bidirectional

Displays all services separately as bidirectional services no matter whether the channel numbers are consecutive or not.

Activate

Activates the selected SDH service.

Deactivate

Deactivates the selected SDH service.

Modify

Modifies the cross-connections that are not used by trails.

Delete

Deletes the selected SDH service.

Relevant Discrete Service

Displays the discrete services that are related to the selected cross-connection on the current NE and other NEs.
NOTE:

Discrete services are generated after a trail is deleted from the network layer. You can right-click a service of the NE and choose Relevant Discrete Service from the shortcut menu. Then the U2000 Web LCT displays all discrete services on the trial carrying the selected service.

Convert to Non-Protection Service

Converts an SNCP service to a normal service.

Convert Service

Converts the service.

Converting an SNCP service to a normal service may interrupt the service.

Convert to SNCP Service

Migrates a normal service to an SNCP service. You can select the SDH services with the same sources and sinks but different timeslots in batches and choose Convert to SNCP. In the window that is displayed, you can convert SDH services to SNCP services in batches.

NOTE:
  • Displayed only when the service is extended to a pair of unidirectional services.
  • Converting SDH services to SNCP services in batches only applies to the VC12 cross-connection.
  • During the conversion, timeslots are not required to be continuous.
  • Avoid manual input during the conversion in batches. Otherwise, an error occurs.
