Before creating dual-NE N+1 protection, you need configure the REG on the secondary NE to support the K byte pass-through between the line board and IF board. Use fibers to connect the line board on the primary NE to that on the secondary NE, to realize the K byte pass-through.
In the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose from the Function Tree.
