After NEs are connected to the U2000 Web LCT through USB ports, users can access the NEs directly through USB ports without searching for the NE IP addresses. If OAM access is enabled, the U2000 Web LCT can manage and configure NEs through USB ports.
Context
Set USB access as follows:
- If you want to prevent other users from managing NEs through USB ports, disable OAM access.
- If you want to allow some users to manage NEs through USB ports, enable OAM access.
NOTICE: If the U2000 Web LCT communicates with NEs but not through OAM ports, this operation may affect communication between them.
Procedure
- In the NE Explorer, choose from the navigation tree.
- In the OAM Access Control area, click Refresh. The OAM port access permission of the NE is displayed.
- Select the Enable OAM Access check box, click the Access Command Line or Access NM option button, and click Apply. OAM access is enabled for the NE.
NOTE: If you want to use the U2000 Web LCT to access the NE and manage it, click the Access NM option button before clicking Apply.
If you want to use the command line to access the NE, click the Access Command Line option button before clicking Apply.
