Searching for NEs

In this user interface, you can specify the search domain, such as the network segment and the IP address of the GNE, and search the information of NEs that reside in the search domain but are not added. By using the search NE function, you can also create NEs in batches on the Web LCT.

Navigation Path

In the NE List, click NE Search > NE Search.

In the NE List, click NE Search > Advanced Search.

NOTE:

Before searching for NEs, add the corresponding gateway NEs to the Web LCT. Otherwise, logging in to the searched NEs may fail.

NMS Port

User Port

  • If you click NMS Port, you will search out the NEs in the same network segment as the local IP address will be searched out.
  • If you click User Port, NEs whose service ports are directly connected to the Web LCT will be searched out. It is generally used to search for OptiX RTN 310NEs.

Search NE

IP auto discovery

Search by user port

  • Search NE: This mode is used to search out all NEs in the specified network segment.
  • IP auto discovery: This mode is used when you fail to enter the correct network segment. By IP auto discovery, you can obtain the IP addresses of the GNEs and search out all NEs that connect to the GNEs. This mode applies only to the GNEs that connect to the Web LCT directly.

    If they are not directly connected, the same IP address range must be used.

  • Search by user port: This mode is used to search out NEs whose service ports are directly connected to the Web LCT. This mode is generally used to search for OptiX RTN 310 NEs.

Manage Domain

Displays the Manage Domain Search dialog box.

Search

Displays the search user interface.

Add NE

Displays the Add NE dialog box.

Add

Displays the New Domain dialog box.

Set Gateway NE

Switches the non-gateway NEs that you select in the Search NE dialog box to GNEs after the search is completed.

Indicates the added search domain.

User Name

For example: User

Specifies the user name of the NE to be searched.

Password

For example: password

Specifies the password of the NE to be searched.

NE Name

For example: NE127

Indicates the equipment name on the Web LCT.

NE ID

NE ID format: Extended ID-ID

For example: 9-127

Uniquely identifies the NE. The Web LCT recognizes the NE by the NE ID.

Gateway

GNE, - - -

Specifies whether the NE is a gateway NE.

Gateway IP Address

For example: 129.9.0.1

Indicates the IP address of the GNE that the NE corresponds to.

Port No.

Port number: 1400

Indicates the port number of the GNE that the NE corresponds to.

Gateway Type

For example: IP Gateway

Indicates the type of the GNE that is used for the communication between the NE and the Web LCT.

Domain Type

GNE IP Domain, GNE IP Address

Indicates the type of the search domain.

Domain Address

For example: 10.255.255.255

Indicates the search domain.

Local IP Address

For example: 126.9.191.120

Indicates local host IP addresses.

NOTE:
There may be multiple local IP addresses because the local host may use multiple network interface cards (NICs).

NE IP Address

For example: 129.9.0.1

Indicates NE IP addresses.

NOTE:
After you select Local IP Address, IP addresses of all NEs are displayed in the NE IP Address list.

Display uncreated NEs

Selected, Not selected

Displays only new NEs in the Search NE dialog box after you select Display uncreated NEs. This function facilities the NE creation on the Web LCT.
