When configuring WDM services, you need to configure different boards in the network. The various types of boards and the procedure for configuring the board parameters are described here.
WDM Boards
In terms of functionality, WDM boards are categorized into the following types.
Configuring OTU Boards
During the service configuration or test on an OTU board, the OTU board attributes must be configured.
Configuring SDH Interfaces (TDM Plane)
When functions like loopback are used during configuration or maintenance, however, you need to modify the SDH board parameters as needed.
Monitoring Wavelengths by Using the MCA Board
If the system requires the multi-channel spectrum analyzer (MCA) board, you need to enable the MCA board to monitor wavelengths. The station that is configured with the MCA boards usually uses the MCA boards to check the OSNR of a single wavelength and check whether certain wavelengths are dropped.
Setting the NULL Mapping Status
Some OTU boards in the NG WDM equipment support the OTN NULL mapping detection. For the channel where no signals are input, the Web LCT can be used to set the NULL mapping status to Enabled. By checking OTN overheads, the channel status in the network can be monitored.
Configuring Environment Monitor Interfaces
The environment monitoring interfaces of the equipment include enabling status of the input relay and output relay, temperature attributes and so on. You can set the environment monitoring interfaces so that the running environment of the equipment can be automatically monitored.
