Configuring Attributes of Transport Clock for Boards

For clock synchronization, clock signals of a site must be transmitted to the downstream site and clock attributes (including Service Type and Synchronous Clock Enabled) must be configured for the boards.

Prerequisites

You are user with "Operator Group" authority or higher.

Context

  • For TN52TOG, TN54TOG, TN54THA, TN54TOA, TN57TOA, TN54THA(STND), TN54TOA(STND) boards, Service Type must be set.
  • For TN12ND2, TN52ND2 , TN52NS2, TN52TOG, TN11LEM24, TN11LEX4 , TN55TQX, TN54TOA, TN54TOA(STND), TN54THA(STND), TN54THA , TN53NQ2, TN53ND2, TN53NS2, TN57NQ2, TN57ND2, TN54TOG, N57TOA, TN53TDX, N53TDX(STND), TN55TQX(STND), TN55TOX, TN11LOA, TN54PND2, TN54EX2, TN54EG16 boards, Synchronous Clock Enabled must be set.
NOTICE:

When the value of Service Type changes, services will be interrupted.

When the value of Synchronous Clock Enabled changes, services will be transiently interrupted.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, choose Configuration > Clock > Clock Attribute Configuration from the Function Tree.
  2. Select the required board and optical port. Double-click Synchronous Clock Enabled and select Enabled or Disabled according to Table 1.

    NOTE:

For TN54PND2, TN54EX2, and TN54EG16, select the corresponding board and choose Configuration > Interface Management > Ethernet Interface from the Function Tree. Set Synchronous Clock Enabled as Enabled in the Advanced Attributes tab.

    Synchronous Clock Enabled

    Application Scenario

    Disabled

Clock synchronization and the SSM protocol are not supported.

    Enabled

Clock synchronization and the SSM protocol are supported.

  3. Click By Board/Port(Channel) and choose Channel from the drop-down list. Click the Basic Attributes tab. Select the required optical port. Double-click Service Type and select GE(TTT-GMP) or GE(GFP-T) according to Table 2.

Table 2 Application scenarios for setting the Synchronous Clock Enabled and Synchronous/Asynchronous Mode

    Synchronous Clock Enabled

    Service Type

    Application Scenario

    Disabled

    GE(GFP-T)

Clock synchronization is not supported. The TN52TOG board uses the local clock.

    Disabled

    GE(TTT-GMP)

The TN52TOG board transmits the clock from the upstream site to the downstream site. That is, the board transparently transmits clock signals. No STG board is required.

    Enabled

    GE(GFP-T)

Clock synchronization and the SSM protocol are supported.

    Enabled

    GE(TTT-GMP)

Clock transparent clock signal transmission is supported, but clock synchronization is not supported.
