Querying the Power Consumption of an NE

After you query the power consumption of an NE, if the power consumption exceeds the threshold, you need to configure energy conservation for the NE in a timely manner.

Background Information

  • You can use this function to query the NE Power Consumption Threshold (W), NE Nominal Power Consumption (W) and NE Current Power Consumption (W).
  • You can query the power consumption of an NE on a per-shelf basis. The power consumption of an NE is displayed in the NE/shelf format.
    NOTE:

The OptiX OSN 9600/9800 series, OptiX OSN 8800 series and OptiX OSN 6800 NEs support the management of master and slave subracks. In the master/slave shelf mode, the master shelf and its multiple slave subracks are displayed as one NE on the Web LCT. They share the same NE ID and IP address. In this way, IP resources are saved and maintenance is easy.

  • The external power supply system of the OptiX OSN 9600/9800 series and OptiX OSN 8800 series NEs provide four - 48 V or - 60 V DC power supplies are available in two partitions. The two power supplies in each partition are of mutual backup. You can query the NE threshold of the OptiX OSN 9600/9800 series and OptiX OSN 8800 series NEs on a per-partition basis.
    NOTE:

The power consumption threshold of an NE is a default value that is a bit smaller than the maximum power consumption of the NE.

Procedure

  1. Choose Configuration > NE Batch Configuration > Power Management from the main menu (traditional style); alternatively, double-click Fix-Network NE Configuration in Application Center and choose Configuration > NE Batch Configuration > Power Management from the main menu (application style).
  2. In the right pane, click the NE Power tab.
  3. In the left-hand physical map, select one or more NEs, and click .
  4. Click Query and the result is displayed. For parameter descriptions, see NE Power.
