Network Communication Monitoring

Checking the Network Communication Status

Network communication status reflects the communication condition between the Web LCT and NEs.

The data communication network (DCN) between the Web LCT server and clients is unstable sometimes. In such situations, the Web LCT reports transient network interruption and cannot manage some NEs. At this time, users can perform this operation.

Network Communication Troubleshooting

Checking Path Loopback Status

Checking path loopback status in the network.

You can view all optical or electrical ports for which you configure loopback in the network and view the loopback status. You can also cancel the loopback, to avoid impact on services due to a loopback that should not be performed.

Checking Port Laser Status

Checking port laser status in the network.

You can view all lasers that are in the off state in the network and modify their status, to avoid impact on services due to misconfiguration.

Resetting a Board

Reset is a protection scheme for applications and data files on the equipment. Reset is of two types: warm reset and cold reset.

When a board is not running properly, you can reset the board so that it returns to the normal state.

Checking the DCC Enabling Status

Checking the DCC enabling status in the network.

You can view all ports where DCC is in the shutdown state in the network, and you can modify the DCC enabling status for the ports.

Network Communication Modify

Configuring NE Data

NE data configuration includes uploading NE data, manually configuring NE data, copying NE data, and configuring service capacity.

NEs are in the unconfigured state after being successfully created on the Web LCT. The Web LCT can manage these NEs only after the NE data is configured.

Configuring Boards and Ports

Board and port configuration includes adding boards, adding subboards, deleting subboards, configuring service mapping, adding ports, and modifying ports.

Users can add boards on the NE Panel and set port attributes for boards.

Creating Links

Link creation can be complete in the following ways: data synchronization, file import, GUI creation, batch creation between wavelength transponder units and multiplexer/demultiplexer boards, and automatic creation.

Links are physical or logical connections between objects in the Main Topology. To achieve network configuration and management on the Web LCT, links need to be created between different objects in a suitable way.
