Creating SDH Services

To add or drop services between a processing board and a line board, realizing service transmission in an SDH network, you need to create SDH cross-connections from the processing board to the line board.

Context

When you query the services of the current NE, the status of cross-connections becomes inactive if the cross-connections exist on the Web LCT but do not exist on the NE.

NOTICE:
  • You are advised not to configure inactive cross-connections on an ASON network. Otherwise, these cross-connections are prone to conflict with ASON cross-connections.
  • After you query cross-connections on an ASON network, the cross-connections on the U2000 are consistent with those on the NE and the inactive cross-connections on the Web LCT are cleared.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > SDH/PDH Service Configuration from the Function Tree.
  2. Click Query to query SDH services from the NE.
  3. In the Confirm dialog box, click OK. In the Operation Result dialog box, click Close.
  4. Click Create and set the required parameters in the Create SDH/PDH Service dialog box that is displayed.

    NOTE:
    • If you activate the service immediately, the service configuration data is applied to NEs.
    • If you do not activate the service, the service configuration data is only saved on the Web LCT.

  5. Click OK, the SDH service is created.
