Setting Layer 3 Attributes of an Ethernet Interface

When an Ethernet interface is used to carry a tunnel, you need to configure the Layer 3 attributes of the Ethernet interface. The Layer 3 attributes of an Ethernet interface define the related attributes of the network layer.

Prerequisites

In Basic Attributes, Port Mode must be set to Layer 3.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > Interface Management > Ethernet Interface from the Function Tree.
  2. Click the Layer 3 Attributes tab.
  3. Select the desired board and set the parameters as required.

    NOTE:

    When modifying the IP address of the interface, make sure that the IP address of this interface and the IP addresses of other interfaces configured with services are not in the same subnet.

  4. Click Apply. The Operation Result dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation is successful.
  5. Click Close.
