Application of the Higher-Order PRBS Function

The higher-order PRBS function supports the PRBS test in the line direction.

The higher-order PRBS test in the line direction initiated by the cross-connect board is used to check whether a higher-order path of the cross-connect board and line board works properly. See Figure 1. In this case, note the following:

• You need to configure VC-4 services on the path to be tested.
• You need to perform a loopback on the path to be tested (determine the loopback position according to the actual situation).

The higher-order PRBS test in the line direction initiated by the line board is used to check whether a higher-order path of the line board works properly. See Figure 2. In this case, note the following:

• You do not need to configure VC-4 services on the path to be tested.
• You need to perform a loopback on the path to be tested (determine the loopback position according to the actual situation).
