PRBS Test

In this user interface, you can perform an in-service PRBS test for a board. The test result is displayed in the coordinates pane.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click a board and choose Configuration > PRBS Test(SDH) from the Function Tree.

NOTE:
  • The PRBS test will interrupt the service.
  • A PRBS test is used only in deployment. After the deployment, set PRBS Test Status to Disabled.

Displays the port.

Direction

Cross, Tributary, Line

Displays the direction of the PRBS test.

Duration

1 - 255

Sets the test duration.

Measured in Time

Sets the test time unit.

NOTE:

Currently, the following PRBS tests are available: short-time test, long-time test, and extra-long-time test.

  • In the case of the short-time test, the test period is one second. The system reports the PRBS test result once every second.
  • In the case of the long-time test, the test period is ten minutes. The system reports the PRBS test result once every minute.
  • In the case of the extra-long-time test, the test period is one hour. The system reports the PRBS test result once every minute.

NOTE:

Choose File > Preferences from the main menu Select Region Settings to set time mode.

Specifies the test start time.

Total PRBS

For example: 0

Specifies the total number of bit errors during PRBS test.

PRBS Insertion Direction

uni, nni

Specifies the PRBS insertion direction.

PRBS Frame Mode

Frame, No Frame

Specifies the PRBS frame mode.

PRBS Code Type

PRBS15, PRBS23

VC4 channel supports PRBS15 and PRBS23. VC3 channel only supports PRBS15.

E1 path

For example: E1–1

Displays the E1 path.

NOTE:

Only RTN 900 series NEs support.

Accumulating Mode

Checked, Unchecked

Specifies whether to show test results in accumulative mode. In accumulative mode, the number of bit errors at a certain second is the sum of bit errors within all the previous seconds.

If you clear this check box, only the results of the current test are shown in the diagram.
