The MPLS tunnels of the same type are created in one tunnel protection group. In this way, 1+1 or 1:1 protection is provided to these MPLS tunnels. If the working MPLS tunnel fails, the Tunnel protection group ensures that services can still normally run.
In the NE Explorer, select the NE and choose from the Function Tree. Click the Tunnel APS Management tab.

Query Switching Status |
Queries the switching status. |
Clear |

Force Switching |
Switches a tunnel forcibly, regardless of the status of the tunnel. The APS protection group that consists of IP or GRE tunnels does not support this function. |
Manual Switching to Working |
Performs manual switching from the protection tunnel to the working tunnel. If the working tunnel is normal, the switching takes place. If the working tunnel fails or must meet a switching request of higher priority, the switching does not occur. The APS protection group that consists of IP or GRE tunnels does not support this function. |
Manual Switching to Protection |
Performs manual switching from the working tunnel to the protection tunnel. If the protection tunnel is normal, the switching takes place. If the protection tunnel fails or must meet a switching request of higher priority, the switching does not occur. The APS protection group that consists of IP or GRE tunnels does not support this function. |
Exercise Switching |
Simulates the switching operation. It is not a real switching. This function tests the function of the protection group and does not interrupt services. The APS protection group that consists of IP or GRE tunnels does not support this function. |
Lockout of Protection |
The switching request for the tunnel is denied, but the reversion of the switching is allowed. The APS protection group that consists of IP or GRE tunnels does not support this function. |

New |
You can create an MPLS tunnel protection group to protect MPLS tunnels. You can configure 1+1 protection and 1:1 protection in an MPLS tunnel protection group. To create an MPLS tunnel protection group, the MPLS tunnel protection group must be configured at the source and sink NEs of the MPLS tunnel. You must confirm the following informations before creating an MPLS tunnel protection group.
NOTICE:
|
|
Delete |
Deletes a tunnel APS protection group. After you click Delete, a confirmation dialog box is displayed, asking you to confirm whether the protection group type is 1:1 bidirectional and the protection group status is enabled. Click Yes or No as needed. You can choose to or not to migrate PW service configurations to the protection tunnel at the same time. When the Operation Result dialog box is displayed, click Close. NOTE:
To delete a tunnel protection group, the tunnel protection groups must be deleted at the source NE and sink NE. |

Single-Ended, Dual-Ended |
Sets the switching mode, which is adopted in the case of a fault on the tunnel. |
BDI Status |
Enabled, Disabled |
Set the status of BDI. NOTE:
Only when Protection Type is set to 1:1 and Switching Mode is set to Single-Ended, BDI Status is available. |
Working Tunnel Type |
