Protocol Transfer |
In a switching network, a port on the switch with the MSTP protocol is connected to the switch with the STP protocol. The port can automatically transfer to and work in the STP-compatible mode. If the switch with the STP protocol is disconnected, the port does not automatically transfer to the MSTP mode and still works in the STP-compatible mode. In this case, perform the protocol transfer function to transfer the port to the MSTP mode. |

Port |
|
Displays the port. |
Enable Edge Attribute |
Disabled, Enabled |
Displays and sets the edge attribute. The edge port indicates the port that is neither directly connected to any switch nor indirectly connected to any switch through the network in connection to the port. If the user specifies a port as the edge port when the port transfers from the congestion status to the forwarding status, the edge port can quickly migrate without the wait of the delay. The user can specify the port connected to the terminal as the edge port. |
Actual Edge Attribute |
Disabled, Enabled |
Display the actual edge attribute. |
Point-to-Point Attribute |
auto, false, true |
Display and set the point-to-point attribute.
The point-to-point link is the direct link between two switches. If a port is connected to a point-to-point link or any other link, the connection of the port is set accordingly on all spanning tree instances. If the physical link connected to a port is not a point-to-point link, incorrect configuration of the link as a point-to-point link may introduce temporary path loop. |
Actual Point-to-Point Attribute |
false, true |
true: point-to-point link false: non-point-to-point (Shared Link) |
