Flow Shaping Configuration

You can use the flow shaping to implement the flow control function at the Ethernet egress port.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose Configuration > QoS Management > Flow Management from the Function Tree. Click the Flow Shaping Configuration tab.

Parameters

Field

Value

Description

Flow Shaping ID

For example: 1

Displays the Shaping ID.

Port

For example: PORT3

Selects the port for which flow control need be configured.

Priority

For example: 1

Sets the priority of the Shaping configuration.

Committed Information Rate (kbit/s)

For example: 64 to 1048576

The following options are available in the drop-down list: 0 kbit/s, 512K kbit/s, 1M kbit/s, 2M kbit/s, 3M kbit/s, 4M kbit/s, 5M kbit/s, 6M kbit/s, 7M kbit/s, 8M kbit/s, 9M kbit/s, 10M kbit/s, 20M kbit/s, 30M kbit/s, 40M kbit/s, 50M kbit/s, 100M kbit/s, 1000M kbit/s, 10Gbit/s

Specifies the minimum guaranteed bandwidth of an Ethernet service, which is a mean rate value.

When you manually enter a value, you can only enter an integer that is a multiple of 64.

Committed Burst Size (kbyte)

For example: 0

Specifies the committed burst size.

Peak Information Rate (kbit/s)

For example: 0

In the case of TBE boards, enter a positive integer from 0 to 1048576. You can select a value of 0kbit/s, 512kbit/s, 1Mbit/s, 2Mbit/s, 3Mbit/s, 4Mbit/s, 5Mbit/s, 6Mbit/s, 7Mbit/s, 8Mbit/s, 9Mbit/s, 10Mbit/s, 20Mbit/s, 30Mbit/s, 40Mbit/s, 50Mbit/s, 100Mbit/s, 1000Mbit/s, or 10Gbit/s.

Specifies the maximum rate of an Ethernet service to enter the network. Currently, this value cannot be set and is always 0.
