Port Shaping Management

Through configuring the port shaping function, the Web LCT can enable the flow control function at the Ethernet source port.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > QoS Management > Port Shaping Management from the Function Tree.

In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose Configuration > QoS Management > Port Shaping Management from the Function Tree.

Guideline

On the TBE board, each port provides eight queues.

For the TBE board, the priority rules for port queues are as follows.

  1. The priority of a queue with the shaping function enabled is higher than the priority of a queue with the shaping function disabled.
  2. When the shaping function is enabled (or disabled) for all eight queues, queue 8 has the absolute priority, and the remaining bandwidth is allocated to queues 1-7 in the proportion of 1:2:4:8:16:32:64.

By default, the shaping function is disabled.

Parameters

Table 1 Parameter description of Port Shaping Management of the NE-Level

Field

Value

Description

Slot No

slot number-board name

Selects slot number when creating a port shaping.

Port Queue

For example: 1

Displays the port queue that can be configured.

PIR (kbit/s)

Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.

Displays the peak bandwidth.

PBS (byte)

Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.

Displays the buffer capacity of CBS.

Table 2 Parameter description of Port Shaping Management of the Board-Level

Field

Value

Description

Port

For example: Port3

Selects the port requiring flow control.

Port Queue

For example: 1

Displays the port queue that can be configured.

Status

Enabled, Disabled

Sets whether to enable the port alignment.

CIR (kbit/s)

Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.

Sets the bandwidth that can be guaranteed of the sink port.

DCBS (kbyte)

Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.

Displays the buffer capacity of the sink port.

PIR (kbit/s)

Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.

Displays the peak bandwidth.

DMBS (kbyte)

Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.

Displays the buffer capacity of CBS.

Scheduling Mode

WRR, SP

If this parameter is set to SP, the SP algorithm is used for the service grooming on egress ports. The higher is the priority of the CoS corresponding to the queue, the higher is the priority of the queue.

If this parameter is set to WRR, the WRR algorithm is used for the service grooming on egress ports.

Weight

1 to 255

Sets the weight of the queue.
