PRBS Test(WDM)

In this user interface, you can perform an in-service PRBS test for a board of WDM equipment. The test result is displayed in the coordinates pane.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click a board and choose Configuration > PRBS Test(WDM) from the Function Tree.

NOTE:
  • The PRBS test will interrupt the service.

  • A PRBS test is used only in deployment. After the deployment, set PRBS Test Status to Disabled.

Description

Query

Queries PRBS test results and displays the results in the graph.

The query operation provides only the latest summary result of the test and refreshes the diagram accordingly. The intermediate results will be lost.
  • When the results of all PRBS test periods are Normal, the results are displayed in the color of Normal.
  • When the results of certain PRBS test periods are Invalid, the results are displayed in the color of Invalid.
  • When the PRBS test results of all periods are BitError and the value of Total PRBS is equal to or greater than 4294967295, the results are displayed in the color of Invalid. If the value of Total PRBS is smaller than 4294967295, the results are displayed in the color of BitError.

Start the PRBS test.

Stop to Test

Stop the PRBS test.

Sets the test time unit.

NOTE:

Currently, the following PRBS tests are available: short-time test, long-time test, and extra-long-time test.

  • In the case of the short-time test, the test period is one second. The system reports the PRBS test result once every second.
  • In the case of the long-time test, the test period is ten minutes. The system reports the PRBS test result once every minute.
  • In the case of the extra-long-time test, the test period is one hour. The system reports the PRBS test result once every minute.

Specifies the test start time.

Progress

For example: 5%

Specifies the test progress.

Total PRBS

For example: 0

Specifies the total number of bit errors during PRBS test.

Accumulating Mode

Checked, Unchecked

Checks this check box to enable the accumulating display.

NOTE:

In a cumulative mode, the bit error value in the n second is the sum of the bit errors in the previous n seconds.
