Optical Amplifier Board

In this user interface, you can set or query parameters of optical amplifier boards.

Optical Interface/Channel

  • Equipment that supports the master and slave shelf management: NE name-shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name-port number(port name)
  • Equipment that does not support the master and slave shelf management: NE name-slot number-board name-port number(port name)

Displays the position of this optical interface.

Optical Interface Name

For example: IN1

Displays default names. Do not modify this field.

Optical Amplifier Gain (dB)

20 to 40

The gain of the optical booster amplifier is the ratio of output power to input power.

Laser Status

Open, Close

Sets the on/off status of a laser.

Optical Interface Attenuation Ratio (dB)

0 to 20

Set the attenuation ratio of the optical port.

Attenuation difference (dB)

-3.0 to 3.0

Specifies the difference between the current attenuation and the required attenuation.

Gain (dB)

For example: 20

Displays the actual gain of the optical booster amplifier. It is the ratio of output power to input power.

Fixed Band

C, CWDM

The default is usually used.

Nominal Gain

For example: 25

Sets the nominal gain of this optical amplifier.

Threshold of Input Power Loss (dBm)

-35.0 to -10.0

Sets the threshold of the input optical power loss. When the input optical power is below this value, loss of input signal is considered to occur.

Board Work Type

C, L, C+L

Queries and sets the board work type.

Actual Band

For example: C

Displays the actual working band.

Nominal Gain Upper Threshold (dB)

For example: 35

Displays the upper threshold of the nominal gain of the optical amplifier unit.

Nominal Gain Lower Threshold (dB)

For example: 10

Displays the lower threshold of the nominal gain of the optical amplifier unit.

Upper Threshold of Actual Gain (dB)

For example: 35

Displays the upper threshold of the actual gain of the optical amplifier unit.

Lower Threshold of Actual Gain (dB)

For example: 10

Displays the lower threshold of the actual gain of the optical amplifier unit.

Actual Working Band Parity

Even

Displays the parity of the actual working band.

Configure Working Band Parity

Even

Sets the parity of the working band.

Rated Optical Power (dBm)

-30.0 to 30.0

Default:
  • Input interface: -19
  • Output interface: 4

Sets the rated optical power of the input or output port of an optical amplifier board.

Fixed Pump Optical Power (dBm)

5.0 to 30.0

Displays the fixed pump optical power. The value is in the range of Minimum Fixed Pump Optical Power and Maximum Fixed Pump Optical Power.

Minimum Fixed Pump Optical Power (dBm)

For example: 6.0

Displays the minimum fixed pump optical power that is queried from the NE.

Maximum Fixed Pump Optical Power (dBm)

For example: 28.0

Displays the maximum fixed pump optical power that is queried from the NE.

Gain Slope Direction

Up, Down

Specifies the direction where gain slope is generated on a board.

Gain Slope step

0 to 65535

Specifies the step length for setting gain slope of a board.

Working Mode

Gain Locking, Power Locking, Maximum Gain, Pump Power

Set the working mode for the optical port.

Power Value

0, -7.0 to 23.0, -

Set the output value for the optical power.

  • Under Gain Locking mode: Power Value can only be set as zero.
  • Under Power Locking mode: Power Value can be set in the range of -7.0 to 23.0.
  • Under Maximum Gain mode or Pump Power mode : Power Value can not be set.

The Upper Threshold of RL to starting the pump(dBm)

24.0 to 37.0

Sets the upper threshold of RL to starting the pump.

The Lower Threshold of RL to starting the pump(dBm)

24.0 to 37.0

Sets the lower threshold of RL to starting the pump.

The Upper Threshold of RL alarm(dBm)

24.0 to 37.0

Sets the upper threshold of RL alarm.

The Lower Threshold of RL alarm(dBm)

24.0 to 37.0

Sets the lower threshold of RL alarm.

Fiber Type

G652, G653, LEAF, TWRS, TWC,TWPLUS, SMFLS, G654B

Sets the fiber type.

Chromatic Dispersion Coefficient(ps/(nm*km))

0 to 429496729.5

Sets the chromatic dispersion coefficient of the fiber.

Launch Power(dBm)

-60.0 to 60.0

Sets the launch power of the optical port.

NOTE:
In the case of different boards on different equipment, different WDM interfaces are supported. According to the corresponding user interface of the NMS, the parameter description table lists the whole set of parameters in this user interface of the NMS. For detailed parameters supported by each board, see the Hardware Description for each type of equipment.
